Grey rhebok
Pelea capreolus · Vaalribbok
A slender, long-necked antelope with a dense, woolly grey coat that suits the cold of the high Berg. Only the rams carry horns, which are short and dead straight. They live in small groups — a ram with a few ewes and young — and are found only in South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini. The Drakensberg holds one of the largest populations, but numbers there have fallen by at least 15–20% since 1999.
