Large pink nerine
Nerine bowdenii subsp. wellsii · Grootpienknerina
The wild form of a well-known garden bulb. This subspecies grows only on the Mont-aux-Sources massif at about 2,400–3,300 m, where it forms large drifts of flared, bright pink flowers with crinkled petals. It’s Red Listed as Rare (few populations) but not threatened, because its cliffs and ledges are so hard to reach.
